Amazing article, Dr. Rhymes. Thank you for taking the time to pen it, and thanks to Obsidian/J4G for posting it. Men are victims too…so many tend to forget that or try to sweep it under the rug.
Man up? Yeah, right. Getting abused…be it emotionally, physically, or sexually…is not something anyone should be pressured to endure. As a childhood survivor of abuse myself, I loathe those who try to deny other survivors a voice.
There is no shame in needing help, or in telling your story. It is the abusers who should feel ashamed of their gross injustices and entitlement.
Honeycomb, you are not a “bad man” for defending yourself and any who say so are fools. You have my sympathy, sir.

In fact, in the 71 percent of nonreciprocal partner violence instances, the instigator was the woman. This flies in the face of the long-held belief that female aggression in a relationship is most often predicated on self-defense.
